Boiler Plant Operator

About the Role
The Boiler Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of central heating and cooling plants in the National Capital Area. Reporting to the 1st Class Stationary Engineer, this position requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain boilers, chillers, generators, and other mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Conduct regular testing and maintenance to ensure compliance with environmental and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot mechanical issues and develop solutions.
- Prepare and submit reports on plant operations and maintenance activities.
- Perform seasonal maintenance on plant equipment and extensive distribution systems.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience at the Class 3 level.
- Significant knowledge of heating and cooling plant equipment and systems.
- General knowledge of federal and provincial regulations related to environmental standards and occupational health and safety.
- Manual dexterity to repair and overhaul operating plant and equipment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
- 3rd class Stationary Engineer certification.
