About the Role
At BGIS, we are seeking a highly skilled Stationary Engine Mechanic to join our team as an Operations Specialist. This is a key position that requires a strong understanding of heating and cooling plant equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain central heating and cooling plants, ensuring safe and continuous control of temperature.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on plant equipment, including boilers, chillers, generators, and distribution systems.
- Conduct standardized tests to determine chemical concentrations in water and troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues.
- Work with computer software programs to monitor and control plant operations.
- Prepare work orders, documents, and reports, and compile operational data for management.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience as a Class 3 Stationary Engineer.
- Significant knowledge of heating and cooling plant equipment and systems, including operating characteristics and computer systems.
- General knowledge of federal and provincial regulations related to environmental standards and occupational health and safety.
- Manual dexterity and written communication skills to record information and prepare reports.
- 3rd class Stationary Engineer certification.
