About the Role
At BGIS, we are seeking a highly skilled Stationary Engine Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our central heating and cooling plants.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain complex mechanical equipment, including boilers, chillers, generators, and distribution systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, including pumps, valves, expansion joints, and fans.
- Conduct standardized tests to determine chemical concentrations in water and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs as needed.
- Work with computer software programs to monitor and control plant operations.
- Prepare work orders, documents, and reports to management.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience as a Class 3 Stationary Engineer.
- Significant knowledge of heating and cooling plant equipment and systems.
- Provincial or standardized operating engineering certification.
- General knowledge of federal and provincial regulations related to environmental standards and occupational health and safety.
- Manual dexterity and written communication skills.
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
- 3rd class Stationary Engineer certification.
