Stroke Services Patient Care Leader

Permanent Full-Time Position

As a vital member of the management team, the Stroke Services Patient Care Leader is responsible for overseeing the coordination and administration of the Integrated Stroke Unit, Community Stroke Rehabilitation Clinic, and Speech Language Pathology services. Reporting directly to the Program Director, this role involves managing both human and financial resources to ensure the delivery of high-quality, effective stroke care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational management and organizational efficiency of the department, including human resource management and financial oversight.
  • Align departmental goals with the organization’s vision, values, and strategic objectives.
  • Foster a culture of shared governance and interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance patient-focused services and continuous quality improvement.
  • Encourage team cohesion and motivation through engagement and transformational leadership practices.
  • Review and update policies and procedures to ensure alignment with best practices and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Support staff in decision-making and problem-solving while adhering to administrative protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director and interdisciplinary team members to resolve operational challenges impacting service delivery.
  • Drive excellence in patient care through ongoing quality improvement initiatives, including planning and risk management.
  • Lead the development of innovative initiatives by fostering an environment that promotes creativity and critical thinking.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse Certificate of Competence from the relevant regulatory body.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in clinical management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in post-acute or inpatient care settings.
