About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team at Workday. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving a full-stack DevOps service ownership culture within our team. You will be responsible for managing infrastructure resources using technologies like AWS Cloud Development Kit, Terraform, and overseeing system configuration.

You will develop expertise in our team's system architecture and guide the engineering team to evolve our architecture to meet future product, scale, and resiliency requirements. You will implement production system changes to meet company requirements, such as High Availability and Disaster Recovery compliance.

You will build self-service tooling that empowers application developers to interact with production environments. You will participate in an on-call rotation and respond to production incidents: triage, fix, and resolution. You will conduct retrospectives and act on incidents to continually improve our systems and processes.

You will improve operational efficiency to help scale the team by automating where possible.

About You

We are looking for someone with 7+ years of overall experience, with a minimum of 3+ years as a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer. You should have 3+ years of infrastructure and automation experience, with technologies like AWS Cloud Development Kit and Terraform. You should have 2+ years of hands-on experience using AWS technologies.

You should have experience in development and deployment in a multi-region cloud environment, especially AWS, GCP, etc. You should have a passion to automate common tasks and processes. You should have knowledge of security, performance, high availability, and disaster recovery methodologies.

You should have experience working with container deployment and orchestration technologies with knowledge of fundamentals including service discovery, deployments, monitoring, scheduling, load balancing. You should have experience with distributed cloud service development, infrastructure, traffic management, and architecture.

You should have expertise with Networking concepts like VPC, DNS, ALB/NLB, Subnets, etc. You should have a passion for writing quality and well-tested code. Experience with writing production-quality code in TypeScript is a plus. Experience in maintaining and monitoring production systems at scale is a must.
