Head of Claims Operations, Casualty and Litigation

Overview of the Role:
As the Director of Claims Management, you will play a pivotal role within a vibrant team that emphasizes meticulous attention to detail while prioritizing the customer experience. The Casualty and Litigation division is dedicated to delivering prompt, efficient, and courteous service to claimants, insured parties, and brokers through thorough investigation, analysis, and resolution of claims. In this position, you will oversee all operations of the claims unit, providing effective leadership and training to the adjusting staff to ensure that service and quality standards are consistently achieved.
Your responsibilities will also include supporting the formulation and execution of best practices and departmental strategies aimed at fulfilling regional objectives related to customer service, productivity, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offering strong leadership, coaching, and motivation to team members to meet service and quality targets.
- Overseeing the development and implementation of corporate and regional business strategies, ensuring alignment with overall corporate goals.
- Enhancing operational efficiency by refining workflows and procedures.
- Fostering a culture centered around customer satisfaction.
- Managing Disposition Programs, including settlement conferences, mediation, internal committee file reviews, and alternative dispute resolution methods.
- Guiding defense counsel activities to ensure adherence to litigation best practices.
- Monitoring large and complex claims, providing strategic coaching and direction.
Qualifications:
- A degree in an Insurance-related field or a similar discipline.
- Completion or progress towards the CIP designation.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the property and casualty sector, focusing on complex claims.
- At least 5-7 years of proven leadership experience.
- Proficient technical skills in MS Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication abilities with Claimants, Brokers, and Legal Counsel.
