Commercial Director

We are seeking a highly experienced Commercial Director to join our team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our Commercial & Risks Management team, you will be responsible for driving commercial growth and excellence across our sectors and regions.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive bid reviews for major projects and provide strategic support to bid teams.
- Collaborate with project teams to negotiate contracts and manage commercial risks.
- Monitor and analyze commercial performance and strategy for major projects, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop and implement commercial tools, processes, and KPIs to support project teams in achieving commercial excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Project Delivery, Risk, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Health & Safety.
- Participate in reviews of major projects and contribute to the development of WSP Canada's commercial principles and positions.
- Prepare and deliver training on commercial best practices and governance.
- Act as a delegate to the Senior Vice President, Commercial & Risk, as needed.
- P.Eng., Finance, or Legal degree, or other relevant designation.
- 10+ years of industry experience in commercial management, with a focus on major projects.
- Strong experience working in multi-disciplinary teams, with expertise in contract negotiation, project delivery, and commercial management.
- Knowledge of engineering operations, project financials, project execution, client, partner, and supply chain management.
- Experience working with technical, financial, legal, risk, and commercial advisors.
- Ability to identify, allocate, mitigate, and quantify risks for large, complex projects.
