About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Commercial Director to join our team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our Commercial & Risks Management team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and development through strategic commercial management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive bid reviews for major projects and provide support to bid teams as needed.
  • Collaborate with project teams to negotiate contracts and manage commercial risks.
  • Monitor and analyze project performance from a commercial standpoint, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimize results.
  • Develop and implement commercial tools, processes, and monitoring systems to support project teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Project Delivery, Risk, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Health & Safety.
  • Participate in reviews of major projects and contribute to the development of WSP Canada's commercial principles and positions.
  • Prepare and deliver training on commercial best practices and governance.
  • Act as a delegate to the Senior Vice President, Commercial & Risk, as needed.
Requirements
  • P.Eng., Finance, or Legal degree, or equivalent relevant designation.
  • 10+ years of industry experience in commercial management, with a focus on major projects.
  • Strong experience working in multi-disciplinary teams, with expertise in mediating issues and facilitating discussions with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of engineering operations, project financials, project execution, client management, and project documentation.
  • Experience working with technical, financial, legal, risk, and commercial advisors.
  • Experience in risk identification, allocation, mitigation, and quantification for large, complex projects.
