About the Role

We're seeking a skilled Rental Control Representative to join our Auto Physical Damage Claims team at Gore Mutual Insurance.

As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in proactively managing and mitigating rental length on individual auto claims to ensure that rental costs are controlled relative to the needs of the claim.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily Claim Monitoring: Conduct daily checks of qualifying claims in both internal and external systems to identify potential rental length issues.
  • Rental Extension Management: Action and respond to ad-hoc requests for rental extensions, ensuring timely and efficient resolution.
  • Reserve and Payment Management: Increase reserves and issue payments as necessary to manage rental costs.
  • Estimate Validation: Interact with shops to validate estimate completion dates, ensuring accurate and timely resolution.
  • Complex File Coordination: Coordinate with claims handlers on complex files and customers facing rental issues to mitigate rental length.
  • Rental Rate Negotiation: Negotiate rental rates and come to an agreement on daily rates for rentals if they are higher than standard rates for the vehicle type.
  • Process Improvement: Review and leverage available data to create process and workflow improvements that will better control rental length and costs.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience handling auto claims is required.
  • A preference for 1-2 years of experience in the vehicle rental industry.
  • Post-secondary education is required, preferably in Business Insurance.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and analyze data.
Work Environment

We're a hybrid team that thrives on the energy and value of in-office collaboration. This role offers the best of both worlds, with 2 days a week spent in our vibrant office in Cambridge, Ontario.
