Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of existing structures
  • Prepare detailed evaluation and condition reports
  • Manage and execute engineering design tasks for projects of varying complexities
  • Collaborate on intricate engineering design initiatives with senior team members
  • Utilize standard engineering methodologies to address structural challenges
  • Review engineering shop drawings and calculations
  • Perform on-site evaluations of construction related to structural elements
  • Employ structural design software in partnership with senior engineers
  • Propose technological enhancements for the engineering department
  • Assist in technical tasks requiring precision and adherence to established methods
  • Guide junior engineers and technicians
  • Provide technical support and direction to the engineering team
  • Engage in project meetings involving various stakeholders
  • Oversee project progress, set clear expectations, and foster a collaborative team environment
  • Conduct quality assurance checks and document lessons learned for continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant engineering software
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Proven ability to manage projects effectively, meeting deadlines
  • Systematic and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license
  • Technical expertise in structural engineering, familiar with relevant codes and standards

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with a P.Eng designation
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in a consulting engineering environment managing structural projects
