About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at The Engineering Institute of Canada. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading structural engineering projects from conception to completion.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  2. Structural Design: Design and develop structural systems for industrial projects, including equipment foundations and support structures.
  3. Technical Decision Making: Make informed technical decisions with limited information, ensuring that projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
  4. Proposal Development: Develop and prepare engineering proposals for clients, including estimates and project timelines.
  5. Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure that project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded.
  6. Quality Assurance: Approve and stamp project designs and reports, ensuring that they meet the required standards and regulations.
  7. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, architects, and contractors, to ensure that projects are delivered successfully.

Requirements
  • Professional engineering license in a relevant province or territory
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on project leadership and technical decision making
  • Strong technical knowledge of structural systems and building codes
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects
