**Job Summary**

The Riverview Health Centre is seeking a skilled and compassionate Health Care Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support services under the supervision of our Patient Care Manager and Registered Nurses.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Assist with patient care and provide basic supportive services as delegated by healthcare professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
  • Participate in patient care planning and implementation.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.

**Requirements**

  • 1 year of experience in providing rehabilitative, long-term care, or chronic care to patients is preferred.
  • Grade X education is required.
  • Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized institution is required.
  • Knowledge of basic nursing care principles, techniques, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), Principles of Routine Practices, and other relevant Workplace Safety and Health requirements.
  • Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to express ideas and thoughts in English both verbally and in written formats.
  • Ability to listen and comprehend effectively.
  • Ability to select and use appropriate communication methods pertinent to the situation.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to organize workload and set priorities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work safely without injury to self, patients, or other staff.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with patients, family members, and coworkers.
