The British Columbia Public School Employers' Association (BCPSEA) is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and diverse educational environment.

BCPSEA encompasses a variety of educational institutions, including numerous elementary and secondary schools, as well as specialized learning programs.

CHIEF EDUCATION OFFICER

The Chief Education Officer (CEO) serves as the principal executive leader of the organization, directly accountable to the Board of Directors.

The CEO will adopt a JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) approach and champion reconciliation efforts, ensuring that our policies and frameworks are integrated throughout the organization.

This role involves fostering effective teams and networks that enhance student engagement and well-being.
It requires identifying key priorities and developing strategic initiatives in collaboration with staff and the community.
The CEO will demonstrate innovative problem-solving skills and utilize evidence-based strategies to drive positive outcomes.
Encouraging creative practices and calculated risk-taking is essential; the CEO must articulate the rationale for changes and navigate processes that facilitate cultural transformation.
Governance and Policy Oversight

Provide leadership to ensure adherence to governance standards, legislation, and organizational policies.
Ensure that policies are in alignment with the organization's vision and operational practices.
Develop systems to support educational institutions and organizational frameworks.
Communication and Community Engagement

Establish processes for collecting, analyzing, and utilizing data to inform decision-making.
Create strategies and plans for leadership succession.
Demonstrated experience and interest in decolonization and collaboration with Indigenous communities are essential.
Proven ability to cultivate positive relationships with the Board of Directors and the broader community.
