Opportunity Profile: Superintendent of Schools

Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools (NLPS) is seeking a visionary leader to serve as Superintendent of Schools. As the Chief Executive Officer of the District, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the organization in achieving its mission to provide a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve student achievement and well-being
  • Provide leadership and direction to the District's administrative team
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with the Board of Education, community stakeholders, and government officials
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies
  • Develop and manage the District's budget and financial resources
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in district-level leadership and operational management
  • Strong grounding in classroom instruction and school-based leadership
  • Ability to lead diverse, high-performing teams and drive accountability
  • Fluency with information technology, financial systems, and excellent analytical skills
