Morty's Pub is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, as well as overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen.
Responsibilities:- Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers.
- Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling costs.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement new menu ideas and specials.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and presentation styles.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree or certification preferred.
The Sous Chef will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent exposure to heat, noise, and physical activity. The position requires standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and working in a team environment.
