Position Overview

ROLE SUMMARY

The Financial Analysis Specialist - Bilingual (French/English) will work closely with the Regional Operations Director and collaborate with the Finance Team. This role is essential in partnering with NRB operations to effectively oversee and manage financial performance. The specialist will generate and interpret financial data crucial for business operations and will prepare comprehensive reports for management to facilitate informed decision-making and strategic forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

The Financial Analysis Specialist - Bilingual (French/English) will undertake the following responsibilities:

Generate monthly financial statements by contract, comparing actual results against forecasts or budgets. Conduct thorough analysis of monthly financial statements for accuracy and completeness, providing detailed commentary on variances. Collaborate with the Business Finance team and Operations to derive insights from key performance indicators, revenue streams, and cost factors, understanding the financial implications of individual contracts. Develop annual budgets and quarterly financial forecasts per contract, including variance analysis. Analyze accounts receivable aging and accrued accounts receivable by region. Review financial statement packages with relevant stakeholders. Conduct break-even analysis for contracts. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for both internal and external stakeholders. Verify accuracy and proper coding of accounts payable and receivable documents. Support month-end processes, including revenue and expense accruals and cost allocations. Assist with audit requests and reviews. Compile and validate supporting documentation for journal entries and customer billings. Provide assistance to the Business Finance Team with reporting and special projects as needed. Offer support to internal departments as required. Address other ad-hoc requests as necessary.

Processes and Compliance

Ensure adherence to internal controls and recommend improvements as necessary. Enhance month-end processes to promote efficiency and effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures. Collaborate with finance and operational teams to ensure timely capture of monthly transactions.

Candidate Profile

IDEAL CANDIDATE

A relevant educational background in Finance, Accounting, or Business is preferred. CPA designation or progress towards completion is advantageous. Proficiency in English or French, with the ability to communicate effectively in the other language. A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in a financial accounting role is required. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in Canada. Required Skills Strong analytical skills with the ability to connect operational activities to financial outcomes. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, capable of handling a dynamic workload and meeting deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with sound decision-making abilities. A proactive team player who fosters collaborative relationships across all organizational levels. Self-motivated with the capability to work independently. Proficient problem-solving and reconciliation skills. Solid IT skills, including experience with ERP systems and financial modeling, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred. Familiarity with NetSuite, PBCS, or SmartView is a plus.
