Excavation Equipment Operator

We are seeking a skilled Excavation Equipment Operator to join our team at STAR EXCAVATING LTD. As an Excavation Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, conducting pre-operational checks, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate heavy equipment such as backhoe excavators and loaders, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks as needed.
- Prepare accident reports and secure special attachments to equipment.
- Operate GPS and other navigation equipment to ensure accurate location and navigation.
- Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment to stay in touch with team members.
- Perform minor repairs to equipment as needed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate operation and maintenance of equipment.
- 1-2 years of experience in operating heavy equipment.
- No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
- Ability to work outdoors in various locations.
- Physically demanding work environment.
- Fast-paced environment with overtime required.
- Ability to work with steel-toed safety boots and safety glasses/goggles.
- Permanent work term with 35 hours per week.
- English language required for communication.
