About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team at Phantom Works Ltd. As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to excavate and move earth, rock, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely operate excavators, backhoes, and other heavy equipment to excavate and move earth, rock, and other materials.
  • Read and Interpret Plans: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and ensure accurate excavation.
  • Maintain Equipment: Clean and lubricate equipment, refill equipment tanks, and conduct pre-operational checks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Measure and Calculate: Measure distance, volume, length, and weight to ensure accurate excavation and meet project requirements.
  • Communicate Effectively: Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment to coordinate with team members and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Support Newcomers and Refugees: Recruit and support newcomers and refugees who were displaced by a conflict or natural disaster, and develop relationships with indigenous communities and organizations.
  • Support Visible Minorities: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities and develop relationships with indigenous-owned businesses and organizations.
  • Work Environment: Work in various locations, with relocation costs covered by the employer, and work a 30-hour week in a permanent position.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in excavation and construction.
