About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Excavation Equipment Operator to join our team at GL Excavating Ltd. as a key member of our operations team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely operate a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, and graders, to perform excavation and site preparation tasks.
  • Measure and Estimate: Measure distance, volume, length, and weight of materials and estimate costs and materials required for projects.
  • Perform Repairs and Maintenance: Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Read and Interpret Plans: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and ensure accurate execution.
  • Ensure Site Safety: Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and procedures, and reporting any hazards or incidents to management.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Environment: Outdoors, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work Setting: Various locations, including construction sites and quarries.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with attention to detail and ability to lift heavy objects.
