About the Role

Pattar Excavating Inc. is seeking a skilled Excavation Equipment Operator to join our team. As an Excavation Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery and equipment to excavate and move earth and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Heavy Equipment: Safely operate backhoe excavators, loaders, and other heavy machinery to excavate and move earth and other materials.
  • Interpret Blueprints and Specifications: Interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to plan methods or sequences of operation.
  • Conduct Pre-Operational Checks: Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Complete Onboard and Other Logs: Complete onboard and other logs to track equipment usage and maintenance.
  • Prepare Accident Reports: Prepare accident reports to document any incidents or accidents that occur on the job site.
  • Communicate with Team Members: Communicate with team members and other stakeholders to coordinate work activities and ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
  • Work Site Environment: Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lift heavy objects.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to pay attention to detail and ensure that work is completed accurately and safely.
  • Work Term: Permanent position.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
