Position Overview:

We are on the lookout for dedicated and enthusiastic professionals for the role of an Environmental Planner at the intermediate level, aimed at bolstering Parsons' Infrastructure division.

Key Responsibilities:

The Environmental Planner will play a crucial role in supporting senior Environmental Planners and guiding junior team members on Environmental Assessment (EA) initiatives, including:

  1. Engagement in diverse infrastructure projects encompassing report composition, alternative evaluations, impact assessments, and the development of consultation strategies.
  2. Assisting in the preparation of proposals.
  3. Maintaining client relationships.
  4. Coordinating with subconsultants.
  5. Leading and managing EA processes.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  2. Post-secondary education in fields such as planning, environmental science, biology, ecology, geography, or a related discipline.
  3. Exceptional organizational and communication abilities.
  4. Familiarity with Environmental Assessments, including Municipal Class EA, Transit Project Assessment Process, and the Canadian Impact Assessment Act.
  5. Experience in the Ontario market, particularly in infrastructure projects.
  6. Preferred membership status (candidate or full) in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (RPP) and Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP).
  7. Knowledge of environmental permitting and approval processes.
  8. Strong technical writing capabilities.
  9. Understanding of local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations and policies.
  10. Proficiency in French is considered an asset.
