Position Summary:
We are in search of driven and passionate individuals for the role of an intermediate Environmental Planner to bolster our Infrastructure division.
Parsons offers flexibility in work locations, welcoming candidates from various regions.
Key Responsibilities:
The Environmental Planner will play a crucial role in collaborating with senior planners and guiding junior team members on Environmental Assessment (EA) initiatives, which encompass Municipal and Transit projects, as well as Environmental Impact Statements and Evaluations for various levels of government projects.
- Engage in diverse infrastructure projects, including documentation, alternative assessments, impact evaluations, and the formulation of stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Support the preparation of proposals.
- Act as a liaison with clients.
- Coordinate with subconsultants.
- Lead and manage EA processes.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Post-secondary education in fields such as planning, environmental science, biology, ecology, geography, or a related discipline.
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with Environmental Assessments, including Municipal Class EA, Transit Project Assessment Process, and the Canadian Impact Assessment Act.
- Experience within the Ontario infrastructure sector, focusing on local and regional municipalities.
- Preferred membership status in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (RPP) and Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP).
- Knowledge of environmental permitting and approval processes.
- Strong technical writing proficiency.
- Understanding of local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations and policies.
- Proficiency in French is considered an asset.
