Job Description

The Sustainability Engineering Intern will take on discrete projects within the North America (NAM) projects organization, working closely with all engineering disciplines to deliver solutions that positively impact the environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine methodology for assessing Veolia WTS solutions from a sustainability standpoint, focusing on impact on Greenhouse Gas emissions, water use, and waste generation.
  • Apply the methodology on discrete commercial project quantifications to summarize customer benefits surrounding environmental impacts.
  • Create and/or adapt project quantification tools to enable the NAM Projects team to perform discrete quantifications in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with VWTS Market Communities to establish a means of reporting sustainability impacts of customer projects on aggregate for each market segment.
  • Coordinate quarterly employee Sustainability Education sessions.
  • Support the implementation of sustainability impacts into marketing materials and customer proposals.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related technical discipline, with a minimum completion of 2nd year.
  • Academic focus on sustainability, whether through coursework or as a designated minor, is beneficial.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and contribute to team and department projects.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks at hand.
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced work environment.
  • Good technical writing and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness to present to large audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with co-workers.
  • Able to network both internally and externally.
