Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Game Designer to enhance our growing team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the broader Design Team, contributing significantly to the design of various game elements to ensure an exceptional player experience.

As a Senior Game Designer, you will assist the Lead Designer by drafting, collaborating on, and reviewing design documentation, implementing systems and units, and conducting balance and experience testing and iteration. Your enthusiasm for and understanding of Turn-Based Tactical RPGs will be crucial in fulfilling your responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee critical aspects of game design, ensuring effective management of scope, quality, and a focus on rapid and efficient feature delivery.
  • Clearly and accurately communicate your ideas and solutions to your Lead, Creative Director, and other departments, while being open to feedback and adapting designs to meet the project's broader needs.
  • Define, estimate, and deliver features and tools.
  • Assist in prioritizing and focusing on features, bugs, and scope to accommodate changes in deadlines or other emerging issues.
  • Manage and communicate potential risks effectively.
  • Foster an environment that encourages team members to grow and develop, providing direct mentoring and support as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in the Games Industry as a Game Designer.
  • Full-cycle development and production experience as a Senior Game Designer on at least one AA+/AAA title, with a preference for Turn-Based Tactical RPGs or similar.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the varying needs and demands of Game Design throughout all production phases.
  • Exceptional documentation and communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management abilities, capable of providing and receiving feedback in a constructive and professional manner.
  • Adept at identifying optimal solutions and assisting others in problem-solving to achieve design and iteration objectives.
  • Ability to make clear and constructive decisions promptly while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
  • Skilled in building and promoting a shared cross-departmental vision for your areas of responsibility and acting as an ambassador for the overall game.
  • Quickly able to analyze and distill game mechanics and systems to focus on the most valuable aspects.
  • Critical and analytical thinker, capable of stepping outside their role to consider the player's perspective and deliver engaging interfaces with complex systems.
  • Experience in onboarding players through tutorials and in-game guidance.
  • Demonstrated experience in owning an entire feature design, from feedback review to iteration to meet specific goals set by the Lead and/or Creative Director.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Game UI/UX Design.
  • Extensive knowledge of current and historical Turn-Based Tactical RPGs.
  • Significant experience with Unity.
  • Previous experience in management, team leadership, or mentoring roles.
