About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Game Designer to join our team at Frontier, a leading developer of innovative Tactical RPGs. As a key member of our Design Team, you will play a crucial role in designing and delivering exceptional gaming experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the wider Design Team to design and implement game mechanics, systems, and features.
  • Support the Lead Designer in writing, reviewing, and iterating on design documentation, systems, and unit implementation.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Turn-Based Tactical RPGs, including their mechanics, systems, and player experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Creative Directors, Producers, and Engineers, to ensure design goals are met.
  • Manage and prioritize design tasks, features, and bugs to ensure timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, and provide solutions to design and development challenges.
  • Support the growth and development of junior team members, providing guidance, mentorship, and feedback.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Games Industry as a Game Designer, with a focus on Turn-Based Tactical RPGs.
  • Full-cycle development and production experience as a Senior Game Designer on at least one AAA title.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to give and receive feedback in a constructive and timely manner.
  • Able to identify and prioritize design and development tasks, and make clear and constructive decisions under pressure.
  • Experience with game UI/UX design, game mechanics, and systems development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex systems and mechanics into accessible and engaging player experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Unity and other game engines.
  • Previous management, team leadership, or mentoring experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of current and historical Turn-Based Tactical RPGs.
