Position Summary: The Indigenous Student Recruitment Advisor at Capilano University is instrumental in fostering the enrollment of Indigenous students. This role involves increasing the visibility of the University and its offerings, participating in recruitment initiatives, connecting with potential students and their influencers, conducting campus tours, and facilitating the transition of Indigenous students into the University environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Boost the visibility of the University and its academic programs to prospective Indigenous students
- Establish and nurture relationships with high school counselors and Indigenous organizations
- Travel across British Columbia and Canada for recruitment initiatives
- Represent the University at Indigenous education and career fairs
- Organize and manage various recruitment activities and events
- Assist in the development of Indigenous Student Orientation programs
- Investigate and create new recruitment avenues
- Engage with prospective students through various communication channels
- Conduct campus tours and provide insights on academic offerings and support services
- Research and disseminate information regarding financial aid and community support services available for Indigenous students
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Minimum of two years of experience in student recruitment
- Experience collaborating with Indigenous communities
- Possession of a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License
