Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Indigenous Student Recruitment Advisor to join our team at Capilano University. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting the enrollment of Indigenous students at our institution and providing support to students throughout their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance the visibility of Capilano University and awareness of programs with prospective Indigenous students and influencers through visits to high schools, Indigenous community events, and group information sessions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with high school counselors, Indigenous organizations, and community groups to promote our university and programs.
  • Represent Capilano University at Indigenous education and career fairs, designing displays and providing information about university programs and services.
  • Coordinate and oversee activities such as Inspiration Nation, Explore Capilano, and the High School Counselor Conference.
  • Support the development of and activities for the Indigenous Student Orientation.
  • Research and develop new Indigenous recruitment opportunities and methodologies.
  • Prepare and send correspondence and materials to prospective and current students and other key audiences.
  • Engage prospective and current students and other key audiences in social media as part of an overall recruitment and retention strategy.
  • Conduct campus tours for potential students, their families, and community members.
  • Collaborate with the Enrolment Services Marketing and Student Communications Team to ensure recruitment materials reflect information needs particular to prospective Indigenous students.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as marketing, communications, or business management.
  • Two years of student recruitment experience and working with a Customer Relationship Management system.
  • Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience working with Indigenous individuals and communities on educational and other issues.
