Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Metal Fabrication Assistant to join our team at Piedmont Sheet Metal (1997) Ltd.. This role is essential in supporting various tasks within our sheet metal shop.

Qualifications
  • Education: No formal degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience preferred.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work primarily in a sheet metal fabrication facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials.
  • Prepare surfaces by leveling earth to precise grade specifications.
  • Clear construction sites of rubble and debris.
  • Manage traffic flow in and around construction zones.
  • Engage in various labor-intensive tasks and support skilled tradespeople.
  • Operate metalworking machinery for cutting, punching, drilling, shaping, or straightening sheet metal.
  • Utilize computer numerical control (CNC) machines effectively.
  • Help assemble, erect, and install hoisting and rigging equipment.
  • Fit and join sheet metal components accurately.
  • Install sheet metal products in accordance with specifications and building regulations.

  • Punch presses
  • Drill presses
  • Brakes
