The Hamilton Regional Indian Centre (HRIC) is a culturally grounded Indigenous organization committed to fostering positive transformations within the community. HRIC provides a flexible work setting with additional perks, including 5 paid cultural days, 4 extra holidays, a paid shutdown week during Christmas, and health benefits for full-time permanent staff. Health benefits become available following a 3-month probationary period.

Preference will be given to Indigenous candidates for roles that serve Indigenous interests. We are currently in search of a Wasa-Nabin Program Coordinator to manage program delivery for at-risk Indigenous youth.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College diploma in Child and Youth Work, Indigenous Studies, or a related field;
  • 3 years of experience working with Indigenous children, youth, and families;
  • Understanding of the social, cultural, and recreational needs of youth;
  • Experience in program planning, execution, and assessment;
  • Familiarity with Indigenous community resources;
  • Strong comprehension of Indigenous culture, the impacts of trauma, youth engagement, and community outreach;

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications;

Excellent interpersonal skills and adaptability in a diverse environment;

  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and First Aid/CPR certification;
  • Valid driver's license and dependable transportation;
  • Clear Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Search required.
