**Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board** is seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Indigenous Child and Youth Worker.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide support to Indigenous students and their families, promoting cultural awareness and understanding within the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement culturally sensitive programs and services to support Indigenous students
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and community partners to promote Indigenous cultural awareness and understanding
  • Provide individual and group support to Indigenous students and their families
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in Indigenous cultural awareness and support

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. social work, education, Indigenous studies)
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and individuals
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous cultural protocols and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
