Job Title: Director, Student Financial Services

The Director, Student Financial Services is a key member of the University Registrar's senior leadership team, playing a vital role in the financial, operational, and strategic leadership of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic advice and leadership to support the academic mission of the University.
  • Manage financial accountability and lead cross-functional planning and delivery initiatives for student financial units.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to achieve institutional, divisional, and Registrarial objectives.
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of student financial records.
  • Administer Senate-approved University policy in a student-focused, fair, and transparent manner.
Requirements:
  • University degree with master's level training in finance or business.
  • Certified professional accounting designation (CPA) required.
  • Seven to ten years of management experience in a post-secondary setting or large complex organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and business practices, including quality controls, audit control, government regulations, compliance, and customer service.
  • Exceptional general management experience with a solid background in finance and recent relevant experience in financial management, business management, or related fields.
Skills:
  • Strong financial management skills and ability to manage funds effectively from various sources.
  • Ability to assemble and analyze information for reports and special projects.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deal consultatively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to build, motivate, coach, and lead a team with a strong commitment to a team approach.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments within tight deadlines and achieve objectives/designated milestones.
