About the Role:

As the Director of Student Financial Services, you will play a vital role within the senior leadership team of the University Registrar's office, contributing to its financial, operational, and strategic direction.

Working closely with the University Registrar, you will provide strategic guidance, manage issues, and lead initiatives within the student financial units of the Office of the University Registrar (OUR). This role involves setting and executing strategies, ensuring financial accountability, and overseeing cross-functional planning and delivery efforts.

Collaboration with key stakeholders such as the Associate Registrar & Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions, the Director of Client Relations, and others is essential for success. Your primary focus will be on leading the Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards, as well as Financial Analysis & Fees units to support students, alumni, and academic operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement long-term plans to achieve institutional objectives
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of student financial records
  • Foster partnerships within the university and with external organizations
  • Collaborate with counterparts in the post-secondary sector to share best practices
Qualifications:

A university degree is required, preferably with a master's level education in finance or business along with a CPA designation.

Experience:

You should have seven to ten years of management experience in a post-secondary or complex organizational setting, with expertise in financial management and accounting practices. Experience in budget development, billing operations, and financial aid is crucial, as well as a strong background in strategic planning and change management.

Skills:

You should demonstrate a commitment to delivering exceptional service, designing effective strategies, and advocating for students' needs. Strong project management, communication, and negotiation skills are essential, along with the ability to mentor and lead a team towards common goals. Operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment, diplomacy, and strong organizational skills are key for success in this role.
