Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Service Director - Respiratory Therapy to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality respiratory therapy services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Provide strategic leadership and supervision to a team of respiratory therapists and support staff, ensuring the delivery of excellent patient care and services.
  • Clinical Practice: Maintain a partial clinical caseload, providing respiratory therapy assessments, interventions, and follow-up care to patients, adhering to established standards of care.
  • Performance Management: Conduct performance appraisals, recruitment, and coordinate clinical work schedules, caseloads, and service rotations.
  • Education and Training: Provide guidance, mentoring, and education to respiratory therapists and support staff, promoting professional development and excellence in practice.
  • Quality Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based respiratory therapy services.
Requirements
  • Education: Entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Canadian program or a MARRT-approved equivalent, if internationally educated.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years recent, relevant Respiratory Therapy experience in a large complex environment, with previous supervisory experience.
  • Certification/Licensure: Current registration with the MARRT and current registration/membership in the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) or an equivalent professional organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Leadership and Management: Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities, with the ability to initiate and support change.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and working knowledge of integrated hospital information systems, including a Respiratory Therapy workload measurement system.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods, with manual dexterity and visual acuity required.
  • Work Environment: May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress, and may encounter aggressive and/or agitated clients/staff/visitors.
