Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Service Leader to join our Respiratory Therapy team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to respiratory therapists and support staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality respiratory therapy services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Guidance: Provide clinical leadership, mentoring, and supervision to respiratory therapists and support staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent patient care.
  • Service Delivery: Oversee the daily clinical service delivery, ensuring that patients receive timely and effective respiratory therapy services.
  • Quality Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives, ensuring that our services meet the highest standards of care.
  • Staff Development: Provide training and education to respiratory therapists and support staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent patient care.
  • Operational Management: Assist with the management of respiratory therapy services, including caseloads, service rotations, and performance appraisals.
Requirements
  • Education: Entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Canadian program or a MARRT-approved equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years recent, relevant Respiratory Therapy experience in a large complex environment.
  • Leadership Experience: Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Certification/Licensure: Current registration with the MARRT is required.
  • Skills: Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities; ability to critically evaluate and apply relevant knowledge to practice; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time without resting; manual dexterity and visual acuity are required.
  • Work Environment: May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood, and body fluids; radiation; toxic materials; noise; allergens; physical and emotional stress; and may encounter aggressive and/or agitated clients/staff/visitors.
