Position Overview
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a qualified individual to deliver therapeutic, diagnostic, technical, and educational respiratory therapy services. This role operates under the general oversight of the Manager or designated authority, ensuring adherence to professional standards and the organization's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy services in accordance with established clinical protocols.
- Engage in effective communication with patients and interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to patient assessments and treatments.
Experience
- Preferred candidates will have recent and relevant clinical experience in respiratory therapy.
Education and Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited academic program in Respiratory Therapy or an equivalent recognized by MARRT is essential.
- Current registration with the MARRT is mandatory, while membership in the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies
- Demonstrated ability to foster positive interpersonal relationships.
- Proficient in both written and verbal communication.
- Capability to collaborate effectively with various healthcare professionals.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
- Adaptability to evolving healthcare practices and technologies.
Physical Requirements
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity are necessary for performing tasks.
- Ability to engage in physical activities such as lifting and moving medical equipment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and potential extended shifts.
