Job Title: Staff Respiratory Therapist

At Grace Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Respiratory Therapist to join our team.

Job Summary

The Staff Respiratory Therapist will provide therapeutic, diagnostic, technical, and teaching respiratory therapy services to patients, while adhering to the hospital's mission, values, and management philosophy.

Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory therapy services to patients, including oxygen therapy, ventilation, and aerosol therapy.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests, such as spirometry and pulse oximetry, to assess respiratory function.
  • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans for patients.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in education and training programs to stay current with best practices in respiratory therapy.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Medical Association of Registered Respiratory Therapists (MARRT) is required.
  • Recent and related clinical experience is preferred.
  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Canadian program or a MARRT-approved equivalent is required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other disciplines and demonstrate professional judgment and initiative.
Working Conditions

The Staff Respiratory Therapist will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, with exposure to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress, and may encounter aggressive and/or agitated clients/staff/visitors.

The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, and may be required to occasionally work extended hours.
