Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Service Leader to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a Clinical Service Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily clinical service delivery and environmental/operational issues in the designated service area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team of respiratory therapists and support staff, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and services.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide feedback to staff to support their professional development.
  • Manage and coordinate clinical work schedules, caseloads, and service rotations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain a partial clinical caseload, including respiratory therapy assessments, interventions, and follow-up care.
Requirements
  • Minimum of five years recent, relevant Respiratory Therapy experience in a large complex environment.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Canadian program or a MARRT approved equivalent, if internationally educated.
  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or another field of study with a relevant major preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Training in fiscal and human resource management.
  • Knowledge of integrated hospital information systems, including a Respiratory Therapy workload measurement system.
  • Completion of, and ongoing participation in, relevant courses, workshops, etc. to address continuing education requirements.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods without resting.
  • Must demonstrate the use of safe and effective body mechanics while working with clients.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required.
  • Ability to stand and walk and perform manual ventilation with one or both hands for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to run to emergencies.
  • Ability to lift heavy medical equipment, including measuring devices, monitors, and gas cylinders.
  • Ability to push wheeled medical equipment.
  • Ability to move gas cylinders.
  • Ability to assist with the positioning of clients.
