Role Summary

Support the success of Banque Scotia's Dealer Advantage Loans Service across Canada by ensuring that personal objectives, initiatives, and strategies align with the team's business goals. All operations must adhere to regulatory standards and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a customer-focused atmosphere to enhance relationships and utilize the Bank's resources, expertise, and systems.
  • Drive the growth and profitability of the loan portfolio: Evaluate credit applications from dealers to assess the customer's financial viability based on credit history, employment status, and income, following established protocols; Execute various credit analysis tasks and structure credit applications using the unit's credit authorization system; assess risk and provide recommendations regarding the customer's credit application; Conduct necessary analyses to support suggested rates and fees; Review and process loan modification and rate reduction requests from dealers and offer recommendations.
  • Ensure thorough and timely due diligence in loan assessments: Guarantee that dealer-submitted customer credit requests are meticulously studied, evaluated, and documented; Track missing information and documents and manage credit and income verifications for assigned loan applications; Report special cases to the Credit Director to facilitate prompt and equitable resolutions.
  • Comprehend how the Bank's risk appetite and culture influence current activities and decisions.
  • Proactively seek efficiencies in departmental operations while ensuring compliance with regulatory controls related to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, money laundering and terrorist financing risk, and misconduct risk. This includes adhering to the operational risk management framework, the regulatory compliance risk management framework, and the Scotiabank Code of Conduct.
  • Encourage a high-performance culture and implement a personnel strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates team members in an inclusive work environment; communicate the vision, values, and business strategy while managing succession and team development planning.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in financing, whether specialized or general, is an asset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in credit analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, along with credit authorization and loan request management software.

Working Conditions

  • This position is based in a standard office environment, with occasional irregular hours required.
  • Operating hours: Monday to Thursday from 7:30 am to 11:00 pm; Friday from 7:30 am to 9:00 pm; Saturday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm; Sunday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
