Scotiabank is seeking a skilled Credit Analyst to join our Lending Services team in Canada.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will contribute to the overall success of the Lending Services department by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Contribute to loan growth and profitability by analyzing customer loan applications, determining customer affordability, and performing structured and analytic functions on loan applications.
- Ensure sound and timely due diligence in loan underwriting by investigating, evaluating, and documenting customer loan applications.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls.
- Champion a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team.
- Direct experience in prime or non-prime financing adjudication preferred.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in credit analysis.
- Functional knowledge of MS Word, Excel, credit decisioning, and loan application software.
- Work in a standard office-based environment.
- Operating hours: Monday - Thursday 7:30am to 11:00pm EST, Friday 7:30am - 9:00pm EST, Saturday 9:00am - 8:00pm EST, Sunday 10:00am - 7:00pm EST.
- Pursuant to a language needs assessment, the successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French.
