Job Overview: We are seeking individuals pursuing a career in Electrical Engineering Technology to join our team in British Columbia. This role will be based in Burnaby and may involve travel across British Columbia and other provinces for project support.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee project management and procurement processes.
  • Conduct electrical analysis and design for both industrial and utility sectors.
  • Design and integrate protective relaying systems (SEL, GE, Siemens, Schneider, etc.).
  • Implement industrial and utility substation automation (SEL RTAC, RTU, HMI, Communications, etc.).
  • Perform electrical studies, including short-circuit analysis, protective device coordination, arc-flash assessments, load flow analysis, grounding studies, and harmonic analysis.
  • Create, modify, review, and approve electrical drawing packages, including single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and general arrangements.
  • Design and modify electrical distribution systems, including MCCs, switchgear, breakers, fuses, switches, transformers, capacitor banks, current transformers, potential transformers, protective relays, and controls.
  • Troubleshoot and develop practical solutions for deficiencies in electrical systems.
  • Support the field services division for maintenance and commissioning activities at customer sites.
  • Conduct onsite engineering inspections and data collection.
Qualifications:
  • An accredited 2-year technical college diploma in Applied Science Technology, Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a degree in Electrical Engineering, PSE designation, or Red Seal Journeyman Electrician.
  • Familiarity with industrial and utility protection and relay systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (CEC, IEEE1584).
  • Experience with electrical engineering software such as EasyPower, SKM, and ETAP is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of microprocessor-based relays and their functionalities is a plus.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required due to fieldwork responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English fluently.

Compensation:
  • Salary range: $45 to $58 based on experience.
  • Overtime compensation after 8 hours, double time after 10 hours.
