Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team in British Columbia. This role will involve working on a variety of projects, including electrical analysis, design, and testing, as well as providing technical support for our field services division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical analysis and design for industrial and utility sectors
  • Design and integrate protective relaying systems
  • Develop and implement industrial/ utility substation automation solutions
  • Conduct electrical studies, including short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash, load flow, grounding, and harmonic studies
  • Create, modify, review, and approve electrical drawing packages
  • Design and modify electrical distribution systems, including MCCs, switchgear, breakers, fuses, switches, transformers, capacitor banks, current transformers, potential transformers, protective relays, and controls
  • Troubleshoot electrical system problems and develop practical solutions
  • Support field services division for maintenance and commissioning activities
  • Conduct onsite inspections and data collection
Requirements
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Understanding of industrial/utility protection and relay systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (CEC, IEEE1584)
  • Experience with electrical engineering software (EasyPower, SKM, ETAP) considered an asset
  • Understanding of microprocessor-based relays and their capabilities considered an asset
  • Valid driver's license and clean abstract required for fieldwork
  • Fluent English language skills

Compensation

$35 to $55 per hour, depending on experience, with overtime and double-time pay rates applicable
