Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Testing Lead to join our team in British Columbia. This role will be responsible for leading electrical testing projects, managing project teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee electrical testing projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget and quality standards.
  • Electrical Analysis and Design: Conduct electrical analysis and design in both industrial and utility sectors, including protective relaying design and integration.
  • Electrical Studies: Conduct electrical studies, including short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash, load flow, grounding, and harmonic studies.
  • Electrical Drawing Packages: Create, modify, review, and approve electrical drawing packages, including single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and general arrangements.
  • Electrical Distribution System Design: Design and modify electrical distribution systems, including MCC's, switchgear, breakers, fuses, switches, transformers, capacitor banks, current transformers, potential transformers, protective relays, and controls.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot problems and develop practical solutions to correct deficiencies in electrical systems.
  • Field Services: Support field services division for maintenance and commissioning activities on customer sites.
  • Onsite Engineering Inspections: Conduct onsite engineering inspections and data collection.
Requirements
  • Education: An accredited 2-year technical college diploma in Applied Science Technology, Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, degree in Electrical Engineering, PSE designation, or Red Seal Journeyman Electrician.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical testing, project management, and electrical analysis and design.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of industrial and utility protection and relay systems, knowledge of Microsoft Office software, and familiarity with applicable codes and standards (CEC, IEEE1584).
  • Software: Experience with electrical engineering software such as EasyPower, SKM, and ETAP is considered an asset.
  • Relays: Understanding of microprocessor-based relays and their capabilities is considered an asset.
  • Driver's License: A valid driver's license and clean abstract are required for fieldwork.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
What We Offer
  • Competitive Salary: $45 to $58 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Overtime: Overtime pay after 8 hours, double time after 10 hours.
