Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Testing Technician to join our team in British Columbia. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing skilled technical assistance, quality service, and advice on technical projects to our clients while maintaining an absolute commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to clients on electrical power system testing and commissioning
  • Assess technical issues on site and provide recommendations for possible repairs or upgrades
  • Collaborate with other technical staff to resolve technical problems and ensure project success
  • Manage multiple small jobs, coordinating the effective use of technical staff, equipment, and resources
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior technical staff on technical procedures
  • Contribute expertise to projects involving transformer testing, industrial plant and utility relaying protection, metering schemes, switchgear testing/maintenance, power system design, and turnkey substations
Requirements
  • Accredited 2-year technical college diploma in Applied Science Technology, Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, degree in Electrical Engineering, PSE designation, or Red Seal Journeyman Electrician
  • Experience in an Electrical Engineering Technologist role will be considered an asset
  • PSE or C.E.T designation will be considered an asset
  • Cable termination experience with brands such as 3M, Raychem, Pfisterer will be considered an asset
  • NETA certification is considered an asset
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Valid driver's license and clean abstract
  • Canadian passport

Compensation
  • $35 to $55 per hour depending on experience
  • Overtime after 8 hours, double time after 10 hours
