Your Opportunity:

The Office of the Registrar at UTM plays a crucial role in supporting the university's academic objectives through effective registrarial services. Our mission centers on strategic enrollment management, focusing on student recruitment, retention, success, and graduation. In a collaborative environment, we strive to provide student-centered solutions while maintaining the integrity of academic records and fostering continuous improvement.

As a Student Recruitment Officer, you will report to the Assistant Director of Student Recruitment and will be primarily responsible for international recruitment initiatives. You will collaborate with team members to devise and execute strategies aimed at attracting qualified students to UTM. Your role will involve promoting UTM both domestically and internationally, ensuring that prospective students are well-informed about our offerings.

The Student Recruitment Officer will represent UTM at various events and programs, both in-person and virtually. You will assist in the development and execution of recruitment strategies, with a particular emphasis on engaging international audiences. Additionally, you will provide guidance to prospective students and their families regarding admissions processes and establish connections with high schools that have significant international student populations.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Conducting comprehensive data analysis to inform recruitment strategies.
  • Building and maintaining a network of external contacts to enhance recruitment efforts.
  • Staying informed about program advantages relative to competitor offerings.
  • Delivering engaging presentations to prospective students.
  • Providing detailed information on admission requirements to applicants.
  • Advising potential applicants and their families on admissions criteria and processes.
  • Offering clear explanations regarding admissions decisions.
  • Responding promptly to service requests.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in a university or post-secondary environment.
  • Experience in student recruitment, admissions, or student services.
  • Proven ability to present to diverse groups and coordinate events.
  • Exceptional communication and public speaking skills.
  • Strong customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Familiarity with high school curricula and U of T admission requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Assets (Nonessential):

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 12 -- $79,874 with annual step progression to a maximum of $102,147. Pay scale and job class assignment are subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
