Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Asphalt Paving Foreman and their operations.
  • Distribute work and supervise the Asphalt Paving Foreman to meet production targets, ensure quality workmanship, and uphold health and safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Asphalt Paving Schedule for all crews.
  • Collaborate with Operations and District Managers, Chief Estimators, Project Superintendents, and project site teams.
  • Work jointly with Asphalt Superintendents in various districts.
  • Engage with the Asphalt Quality Control Department and the Asphalt Plant Department.
  • Coordinate with DCC's Construction Regional Performance Committee & Performance Manager.
  • Implement and maintain Asphalt Initiatives, including:
    • Cadence Calls
    • Regional Performance Initiatives
    • Paver Tracker
    • Viewpoint KPI
    • Project Planning Practices
    • Transportation
    • Paving Crew Schedule
  • Support Foreman Development.
  • Manage overall inventory control of materials and equipment.
  • Foster positive customer relationships.
  • Prepare reports in accordance with current procedures.
  • Recruit skilled tradespeople as per current protocols.
  • Facilitate training and development activities for team members to meet company standards.
  • Delegate responsibilities while maintaining overall accountability.
  • Lead the team to promote a positive work environment.


Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the Municipal Civil Market.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience managing Civil projects and various skilled workers while adhering to policies and guidelines.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
  • Experience with projects of varying sizes.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and foster collaboration while providing exceptional training support to Superintendents & Foreman.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Customer-focused and adaptable, with outstanding communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
