This role entails overseeing and executing comprehensive accounting and reporting functions, including the month-end and year-end closing processes, reviewing and processing journal entries, and conducting account reconciliations while collaborating with operations to analyze and track the performance of the Canada Technical Services division.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accounting Supervisor:
Oversee the month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy in account balances within the general ledger and the financial reporting processes. Lead the team in preparing and presenting monthly financial reports for multiple branches and assist in compiling financial summaries for senior management. Supervise and mentor a team of 4 direct reports; assess individual performance, identify training needs, and facilitate necessary training for professional growth. Develop and implement procedures to enhance operational efficiency and streamline processes. Engage in the planning and forecasting for the Canada Technical Services division, including maintaining a comprehensive rolling forecast and managing inputs from operational levels. Highly detail-oriented and organized. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with accounting software, particularly Oracle NetSuite & Adaptive (experience with these platforms is an asset but not mandatory). Advanced understanding of accounting principles, practices, and relevant regulations. Proven ability to deliver results within strict deadlines. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills; adept at prioritizing tasks. Experience working in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. Minimum of 5-7 years of general accounting experience. Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, along with a professional accounting designation.About Spark Power:
