Your Role as a Specialty Superintendent, Asphalt
We are seeking a dedicated Specialty Superintendent, Asphalt who is passionate about enhancing construction performance. You will thrive in our collaborative and goal-oriented culture, where continuous improvement and innovative collaboration are at the forefront.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Asphalt Paving Foreman and ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Allocate tasks and supervise the Asphalt Paving Foreman to achieve operational excellence.
- Develop and manage the Asphalt Paving Schedule for all crews.
- Collaborate with Operations and District Managers, Chief Estimators, Project Superintendents, and project site teams.
- Engage with Asphalt Superintendents across different districts to ensure consistency and quality.
- Work closely with the Asphalt Quality Control and Plant Departments.
- Lead the development and implementation of Asphalt Initiatives, including:
- Cadence Calls
- Regional Performance Initiatives
- Paver Tracker
- Viewpoint KPI
- Project Planning Practices
- Transportation
- Paving Crew Schedule
- Manage inventory control of materials and equipment.
- Foster positive relationships with customers.
- Prepare reports in accordance with established procedures.
- Recruit skilled tradespeople as per current protocols.
- Facilitate training and development for team members to meet company standards.
- Delegate responsibilities while maintaining overall accountability.
- Promote a positive work environment among the team.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the Municipal Civil Market.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience managing Civil projects and skilled workers while adhering to policies and guidelines.
- Strong leadership abilities to effectively motivate and manage teams.
- Experience with projects of varying sizes.
- Proficient in building relationships and guiding collaboration.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Customer-focused and adaptable, with outstanding communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
