About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geological Resource Estimation Specialist to join our team at BBA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance our expertise in mineral resource estimation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Strategic Plans: Create and implement plans to promote the growth and development of our expertise in mineral resource estimation.
  • Enhance Visibility: Collaborate with key stakeholders to increase internal visibility and drive cross-selling opportunities.
  • Project Identification: Identify high-potential projects at the exploratory stage to build a portfolio of projects.
  • Mentorship: Act as a mentor to our future Qualified Persons (QPs) and support their professional development.
  • Best Practices: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in mineral resource estimation, including changes to methods and regulations.
  • Reporting and Technical Studies: Participate in the preparation of reports and technical studies, including NI 43-101, preliminary engineering, pre-feasibility, and feasibility studies.
  • Qualified Person: Act as a QP on projects related to NI 43-101.
  • Quality Audits: Conduct quality audits of advanced exploration or development projects for all geological aspects, including drilling, sampling, analysis, QA/QC, and mineral resource estimation, and implement important recommendations.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in geology or geological engineering.
  • Professional Membership: Member of a professional order (geologists or engineers).
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in mineral resource estimation.
  • Practical Experience: Solid practical experience in mineral resource estimation for various types of deposits and as a QP.
  • Budgeting and Scheduling: Experience in establishing project budgets and schedules.
  • Mentorship and Training: Ability to mentor, train, and share experiences with team members.
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English.
