Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Geologist or Senior Project Geologist to join our team at BBA Consultants. As a key member of our Geological Group, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating geological and structural interpretation of mining projects using 3D software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and implement methods to adhere to schedules and coordinate activities with clients and technical staff.
  • Lead and perform geological and structural interpretation of mining projects using 3D software.
  • Act as a qualified person for section of reports and technical studies (NI 43-101, preliminary, pre-feasibility, and feasibility).
  • Support resource modelling and updating at client exploration sites or mining operations and provide solutions to problems that they may encounter.
  • Lead quality audits of all geological aspects for advanced exploration or development projects (drilling, sampling, analysis, QA/QC, and estimation of mineral resources) and ensure important recommendations are implemented.
Training and Development

As a Project Geologist or Senior Project Geologist, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise through training and development programs. These programs will help you to:

  • Plan and manage internal meetings with team members and external meetings with other stakeholders or subcontractors.
  • Develop constructive business relationships during project execution to promote repeat business.
Corporate Component

You will also be involved in the development and implementation of the Geological Group's strategies, in collaboration with senior management, to stimulate the development of the Geological Group. This will include:

  • Participating in innovation, new service development, and communication projects for the Geological Group.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geological Engineering.
  • Extensive practical experience in mineral resource estimation for a variety of deposits as well as having been a Qualified Person (QP) on several occasions.
  • Experience in managing databases, QA/QC protocols, geostatistical analyses, and 2D and 3D modelling.
  • Passion and aptitude for mentoring, training, and sharing experiences with other team members.
  • Proficient in using one of the specialized geological and mining modelling software applications, like Gems, Leapfrog, Surpac, Vulcan, Minesight, Datamine, etc.
  • Excellent ability for learning new software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written (English and French).
