Pharmacy Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Innomar Strategies. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in filling prescriptions and maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Enter, scan, and process prescriptions using our pharmacy software, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the team to prioritize tasks and maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to internal and external customer inquiries.
  • Screen telephone calls for pharmacists and provide support as needed.
  • Order, receive, and maintain inventory of medications, ensuring timely restocking and minimizing waste.
  • Prepare and process billings, claims, and disbursements, reviewing invoices and documentation for accuracy.
  • Pack and ship prescription orders according to established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including adverse event reports.
  • Perform general housekeeping and administrative duties as required.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; pharmacy experience an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) an asset.
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution industry and cold-chain distribution an asset.
